July 7th 2008 Meeting Notes

  1. Treasurers Report-As of June 2008, there was $ 7,000.00 in the operating account and $ 4,000 in the fish account. John Ingro made a motion to accept the minutes. Kristie Bailey seconded it.
  2. Membership Committee-As of tonight’s meeting there is a total of 70 members.

  3. Lake Events Committee Reports-



    A. Tagged fish contest- No new fish have been caught. Everyone was paid and reimbursed.

    B. July 19- A “Day in the Park- Flotilla will begin at the Edinburg Marina at 3:00. The event starts at 4:00. J & S Country Store is preparing the food. They have solicited donations, proceeds will be split between GSLBA and the Town of Day. Tee shirts will be ordered from Clear Image. Bob Campbell will coordinate this. A decision was made to keep the member names off the back of the shirt. Posters will be up at each event. Carla Kobe from the Sacandaga Express will promote our events.

    C. August 16-First Annual Chowderfest at the point by Edinburg Marina. The band for the event is booked. They are called the Jonathan Howl Band. John Ingro will coordinate tents for the event in case it rains. John Ingro and Bill Baldwin will examine the power supply for the band. Coozies and tee shirts will be sold at this event. A drawing was reviewed and recommendations were made. They will be ordered by the end of July. A recommendation was made to get pricing on women’s shirts as well. We are going to put together an event poster.

    D. September 6-Sand Island Bash was not discussed since Carl Ward was not at the meeting.


  4. Insurance-We will be purchasing insurance through Capital Bauer through the Nautilus Insurance Company. The liability insurance for the four events will have an aggregate is $ 2,000,000 with a $ 1,000.00 deductible. We also have insurance for directors and officers. The total cost for the year $ 1,569.00. The start date is July 19, 2008.


  5. Adjourned: A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Doug Starling at 8:20 p.m.


  6. The next meeting will be August 4 at the Edinburg Town Hall at 7:00 p.m.
