  7. Old Business I Love NY 2006 Ad – A proposal was submitted by Elizabeth Emery see below. Most members agreed that it was a fair proposal to clean up old business, however, our interim treasurer insisted that he would refuse to write a check for it no matter how the membership voted. More Documentation will be brought next month for a formal vote.
    A Bit of History
When we started forming in the Fall of 2005 one of our Primary Concerns was bringing business to the lake through Advertising. At the time it was of Prime Concern that we were not anywhere in the I Love NY Promotional Materials. I had paid for us to be in the annual publication in 2005, but as it is a substantial cost was not was not going to place the ad for 2006. When we discussed this in September of 2005 I was asked to place the ad and everyone was going to chip in to help pay for it. We did pay $540.00 of the money owed through raffle money. However, when we had to stop doing the raffle I was asked to wait until’ we had money in our “coffers”. I explained the situation to billing at I love NY, and they agreed to take payments of 100.00/month – which I thought was very generous. I have been paying them these payments.
    Documentation
We did not even start taking formal notes until November of 2005, but I may be able to locate some hand written personal notes from the previous meetings. I can produce the agendas for 2006 and 2007, which show it listed as an agenda item, and I can show that we paid the $540.00 for the ad in 2006 which I am told is an admission of liability. There are also several people who do remember this who are willing to sign affidavits.
    Proposal
Since I may not be able to produce all the documentation required I am asking you to pay $65.00/month towards this balance, and I will pay the remainder of the $100.00/month payment. If my responsibilities with the group are reduced I agree to apply for grants for our events and advertisement hopefully freeing up some of our checkbook. If I can accomplish this grant money I request that the GSLBA pay the remainder of the debt at that point.

  9. Motion Made -
By John Ingro and Seconded by Janice Baldwin that the meeting time and place be determined at the preceding meeting to avoid confusion. Passes Unanimously.
