HRBRRD Advisory Council Report
Greg Gordon from Ryan’s Marine has been attending the advisory council
meetings on our behalf. He reports that the meetings are going slowly,
but with the creation of a legal committee who will discuss legal wording
and another committee to explain their decisions things should start to
progress more quickly. A new chairperson has been appointed. Section 4.11 – the
use of motorized vehicles had been discarded completely and they
will be discussing 4.15 the week after this meeting. All in all the
meetings are
going well and are productive.
Health Insurance
Bryan Moldt of Capital Financial has agreed to administer our health insurance
and presented several options to us in a comprehensive package. Bob Campbell
asked him to check and see if we could form a consortium for a group
rate and Bryan is looking into it. We will be holding a health insurance
fair in June.
Snowmobile Runs
A side committee was established to address issues of the snowmobile runs
and will meet the following Monday at Kristel’s Lodge.
This meeting was attended by a representative from
everyone involved excluding the Lakeview Restaurant, Wally’s, Food and Fuel
and J & S Country Store. It was decided that:
-
The Poker Runs will now be called Great Sacandaga
Lake Snowmobile Runs to benefit local Fire and Rescue Squads.
New posters with the remaining runs will be printed and distributed.
We will report on how much money was raised and to whom it was
given at the end of the season.
-
Payment will now be taken at the first Host bar
a rider visits, and the opposite side of the card will be stamped
as well as the stop stamp to indicate payment.
-
It was decided that people can draw their card
when they finish their stops and do NOT have to wait until 8:00.
