Decisions/ Discussion:
1. We will vote by show of hands – (passed 6-4)

2. We will be called the Great Sacandaga lake Business Association

3. We will have a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and possibly a paid executive director/facilitator to make sure everything we need to get done gets done.

4. We will be open to every business in the Greater Sacandaga Lake Region who wants to join. The Goals of the Association will be to promote commerce in the Great Sacandaga Lake Region for the good of all businesses. We discussed promoting tourism and making it easier to do business on the great Sacandaga.

5. We tabled the discussion of dues to the next meeting. Some thoughts were weather we wanted to incorporate the fees for events into our dues and weather we would incorporate Chamber dues into our dues. The Fulton County Chamber is checking into weather they can collect and disperse any monies we raise for events through their accounting team. Other thoughts on dues are the Executive Director/Facilitator salary, and D and O insurance to protect the association from liability for any event we sponsor.

6. Wally Hart from the Fulton County Chamber spoke and showed us all the great literature the chamber has done for the Lake area including a Specialty stores map, restaurant guide, Boating map, Snowmobile map, and a Harvest tour map. The Chamber also had available a response card book that showed where inquiries about the area had come from (as far as which publications)

7. The GSLA Graciously allowed us to use their bi-laws to create our own set of bi-laws and was very helpful and informative on matters such as Sand Island, HRBR, the DEC, Lake Enhancement Fund. It was great to have them there!!

8. Other Topics of Discussion were The issue of signs on route 30, safe Ride Program, Bass Masters Fishing Contest, Sand Island Proposal, Plowing of the Boat Launches for Parking.

9. Betsy Emery will continue to contact everyone about meetings until such time that officers are elected. There was some discussion about compensating her for gas.

10. Our Next Meeting will be Monday December 5th at the Bradt Building in Northville at 2:00 pm.
