Scott has been creating music professionally for over 20 years. For the last 12 years he has been working with Eric Aceto and Doug Robinson together known as the Scott B Adams Acoustic Ensemble. They perform a hybrid of acoustic styles which incorporate elements of folk, jazz, pop, and world music. Scott performs on acoustic guitar and banjo with Doug Robinson on bass and Eric Aceto on violin and mandolin. The group is known for a sound much bigger than the three instruments that comprise it. Scott's use of alternate tunings, hammer-on, harmonics and percussive techniques are augmented by Aceto's often mesmerizing and interweaving melody and Robinson's expressive bass playing. The intuitive interaction of the trio comes from many years of playing together. Concerts contain a mix of instrumental compositions as well as original songs, many of which are inspired by the Adirondack Mountains.

Tickets are $10, $7 for SVAN members, youth are free. Doors open at 4:45pm for a “Light fare Supper”

Requirements: Students must be able to wind a warp, dress the loom. Advanced beginner to intermediate skills.

The saying is \"The twills begin, but they never end.\" Such is the variety from 3-shaft used for jeans to plain (left and right), zig-zag,herringbone, bird\'s eye, chevron, single or double or triple point, to rose path and double weave. The versatile twill is also a stepping stone to overshop and complex weaves.

In this five week class we will explore the variety of twill structures with emphasis on appropriate twills for particular projects. This class is also an opportunity to experiment to see how different yarn types and sizes can affect the finished piece.

Nancy Walker is first and foremost a performing songwriter with a message that is compelling and inviting. She possesses a strong, distinctive alto voice that peals “like a bell” (Dirty Linen) through any musical arrangement; a voice that has been described by MusicHound folk – The Essential Album Guide, in its 1998 issue as “memorable”. As a former member of the Chicago-based trio “Sons of the Never Wrong,” Nancy has shared stages with the likes of John Gorka and Livingston Taylor, and appeared on the big folk festival main stages: Kerrville in San Antonio and the North American Folk Alliance in Toronto. This class is suited for beginners as well as those with some level of experience. Students will explore the versatility of acrylic paint which can be manipulated to look like oil or to appear like the washes of watercolor. Those students with a foundation in oils, and who have those supplies, are welcome to use that medium in class. Themes from everyday life as viewed in still life or landscape will serve as subject matter to inspire each student. Emphasis will be on composition, the language of color, dramatic light, spatial relationships and painting techniques.

BCON Corner facility is alive with from 80 to 150 young people (grades 8-12) and a lot of adult volunteer staff. It is a great time for the youth to "hang out" playing sports, video games, or just visiting with their friends. Shawn Darling and the kitchen crew turn out lots of free food for the kids throughout the evening, and Pink Chicken director Christian Klueg organizes activities such as dodge ball, ice skating, and the evening announcements and message.
